I'll miss you but I know just how you feel. I've blogged about all that crap myself. Get away. Get your head in a healthy place. Feel better. And give us an update every so often because you have a lot of folks who care & respect you. Good luck & God bless.
I'm sorry, honey. It sounds like you need a trip with just you, a private getaway. I know some writers (and mothers) who do that. It would probably be good for you.
Natalie, you are awesomely wonderful and super talented. Your blog is a fun and inspiring place to visit :) It's also a valuable resource for fellow aspiring writers. Chin up.
Take care of yourself first, Natalie. We'll miss you but I think we ALL understand. Bake something delicious and take some time off! I'll be thinking of you and hoping for the best. *internet hug*
Dear sweet Natalie, I can't imagine what you are going through right now, but I felt that I had to share with you how much I respect and admire you. I've been reading your blog for a little while now and occasionally I make a comment here and there. I love reading your blog because you are frank and honest, believable and funny. You are just you. As someone who is trying to start writing, does a lot of thinking about writing, the fact that you are there doing it amazes me. It inspires me, it's brave and awesome and it is you being who you truely are. Right now for me, I'm scared. I'm scared of writing and putting it out there, scared of not having anything of worth to say, scared of what the people closest to me will think of the ramblings that go on in my head. Then I see how brave you are, that despite everything, you are writing and trying to make the most of it. You are brave and courageous and this is helping me to do the same. So the fact that you are brave enough and strong enough to say 'No, not right now', inspires me more, and you have my utmost respect. Just know that your writing is already influencing people all around the world, I know because I'm sitting here in a small town in South Australia. Half a world away. Take care (and sorry this comment was so long!) Melissa
Take care of yourself, Natalie! Also, I just wanted to say that I really look up to you as a writer. You posted an excerpt once that made me want to read the rest of the story without stopping. And I love the HWS posts. I hope everything goes well for you!
Take care of yourself. Things will get better. I'm way older than you and have gone through tons of bad, painful things--my younger sister's death, my husband almost dying more than once--so I know it's all relative. You'll pick yourself up.
A day (or 10) always helps. Good luck. (And I, too, love the red heels. Maybe if you put those on and danced to some music, possibly with some chocolate in hand, you'd feel somewhat better? Maybe 10% better?)
Everybody needs time off. Even the Lord rested on the 7th day. Take all the time you need. Just leave the blog up with a hiatus notice--and that GORGEOUS PICTURE--and we'll come back when you're ready for us.
I totally understand. I haven't even finished my book, and looking at all those YA authors, able to make a career out of their writing, can certainly make one question if they have the "write" stuff. It's tougher for you because you know several personally, so it's a bit harder to escape the good news when you want so badly to have some of your own.
Taking a break away isn't stupid. It's called self-preservation. I do it too, if I notice I'm feeling less than adequate. Once again, thanks for your frankness. You're doing the right thing.
*hugs and love*
ReplyDeleteCan't wait till you're back <3
Ditto what Cheyanne said.

ReplyDeleteI understand. You must do what is good and healthy for you. You've given us so much. Take time for yourself. Sending positive thoughts your way.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself! I agree - the internet is evil. It crushed my self esteem on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteHey, we all need a break sometimes. Take a load off and see ya on the flip side ... or as my daughter would say... "see ya on the flip flop." :)
ReplyDeleteI understand, but don't let it crush your spirit! You're stronger than you think. You have heart and guts. Don't ever forget that, okay?
ReplyDeletePep talk over. Write something today. Read some poetry. Indulge in your favorite guilty pleasure. Soon you'll feel right as rain...
I kind of feel like I know what you're going through. Please, if you want to talk to a friendly stranger, feel free to email me.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself.
*Hugs*

ReplyDeleteWe all miss you and your cheerful posts and your super cute new photo...I guess it isn't going anywhere.
ReplyDeleteYou look awesome BTW. Love the shoes.
I always though hiati was a holiday resort until I learned about getting away.
ReplyDeleteHope the rearrangement of your wardrobe of orange goes well.
And, yes — I want those shoes...
Sending smiles and good thoughts!
