I Blog A Lot...

So I looked at my dashboard today and noticed that Between Fact & Fiction has a whopping 974 posts! That's a lot of blogging, guys. I usually don't count milestones on my blog, save my anniversaries, but I'm thinking ONE THOUSAND blog posts is a big enough deal to do something celebratory.

What, I do not know.

Good thing I have 25 posts to figure it out. I'm thinking a contest. I should have some kind of contest, right? Maybe a sappy oh-I-love-you-guys-and-I-love-blogging speech? A Between Fact & Fiction digest, recounting everything that's happened since I started this whole thing?

Wow, boring ideas. If you have anything better, I am open to suggestions.

    As a prize, you should definitely have a good old Natalie Whipple critique. That's always nice :)

    What about a top ten list? Could you pick your top ten favorite posts as you approach 1000? Or is that too difficult, like picking a favorite among your manuscripts?

    Your blog is one of the best out there, Natalie. I'm so glad your hiatus a while back was short-lived. Your posts touch us all. Looking forward to you reaching 1000! :D

    How about posting something COMPLETELY different. Something you've never even thought about doing before. Like politics, or tips on car repair or RC airplanes. Something that'll make people wonder if they stumbled onto the wrong blog. :D :/

    Lynne, this is a good idea, but my of my faves are already on my reference page. Would it be redundant? It's something to think about for sure.

    Ben, lol, I don't do politics. I can't stand politics, actually. But car repair...I'll think about that one;)

    Most people I know celebrate milestones with blogfests (except we do it when we have 100 followers or 100 posts). I can only imagine how epic your fest would be since you have 1,450 people who could join in. You could even make it into a contest.

    Wow. That's a lot of posts! Congratulations for making it this far! I wasn't there in the beginning, but I bet your awesomeness level has only gone up. I have no idea how to celebrate such a huge milestone, but I am liking some of the ideas so far. Whatever you decide on, I'm sure it'll be cool.

    I think it's enough to justify a week of events :)

    Oh, you know what would be fun? A twitter blurb event. Ask your followers to blurb YOU in 140 words or less and put up your faves on one of the days. :D

    Wow, 1000 posts! I'm so excited for you :D Definitely worthy of celebration.

    And your ideas aren't boring at all. I'd love to hear your thoughts on your blogging journey, how your approach to/attitude toward your blog has changed (if at all), your favorite things about your blog, etc. But that doesn't have to be your 1000th post or anything.

    Actually, my favorite idea would be prizes for everyone! :D But I guess a contest/giveaway would be next best, hehe. :)

    I really like the vlog suggestions, but I really think there should also be some kind of contest involved too. So my idea comes from the wonderfully talented Maggie Stiefvater, who has been known to sharpie guitars and give them away at various book signings. Recently she posted at video of her drawing on one of the guitars that will be given away. It was really cool! In that vain, it would be cool for you to video yourself drawing one of your favourite characters from your MS's, and run a contest for someone to win that picture.
    Anyway, just a thought!
