Happy Writers Society: Keep Dancing

Today we have one of my favorite people on the web, K. Marie Criddle, who will delight us with her awesome illustrated post. I found her blog when I was stalking my potential agency back in the querying days (yes, I confess I'm that person), and I still get excited for each and every hilarious post. Marie is not only an agency-mate now, but a good friend with excellent taste in mythical creatures. And I'm pretty sure that if we grew up in the same place, I would have been in a perpetual state of jealousy over her drawing skillz.

  1. Why do we ever put our soul on paper. Carving it in marble makes more sense. Then when someone trashes it, you can at least hit them with it.

  3. Hahaha.

Does anyone else feel weird reading a book written by someone you know? Sometimes I feel uncomfortable looking into other people's souls.

  5. Great stuff! And true... though I've always found getting it down on paper to be just as good as getting a good response.

Except for plays. When a play is performed, only then does it feel complete to me.

  6. @hopejunkie - I liked that part about Wicked too!

Very funny post with a great, positive message. I'm still at work on my first project and whenever something just clicks in the story, I get that 'Hooray' moment where I dance around and cheer.

  16. I love this! And a good reminder that writing is like a performing art: sometimes it's fun, but sometimes you've just got to do it, even when it's not.

(Also, I thought yesterday was Friday and was disappointed for several hours because I didn't know where the HWS post was, haha).
