This is Kitty, Geoff, and Cal from the Five Words story you guys have helped me create, The Assistant.
These are very rough, just like a first draft is. As I get to know characters, I tend to draw them in more detail as well. I have a lovely picture of Geoff I want to try now, since he's got more of a face. We'll have to see.
Goodness, Geoff is HOT! He kind of reminds me of Howl from Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle. Especially that look on his face :)
ReplyDeleteI think I may have a crush on him :P LOL.
Oh what I wouldn't give to be able to draw like that! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteGeoff is totally part Howl:) Man, I love Howl.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are very cool! I envy your drawing skills - wish I could make character sketches of my characters, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
*wipes away the drool* Gawd, I love Howl. He's one of my husbends. And Geoff does look like Howl. I thinks it's love, even though Geoff seems like a bit of a jerk right now.
ReplyDeleteYou always draw in animae. I'm curious, as you are writing a book, do you picture it happening in animae?
ReplyDeleteI always pictured Harry Potter as a cartoon, until I saw the movies. But those are really the only books that I have ever read that way.
Cally, no, I don't always picture it in anime. That's just how I like to draw:)
ReplyDeleteI have like two visuals in my head usually. The anime one and the realistic one.
What a great way to get to know one's characters--if one has the talent as you obviously do. These are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHow amazing!!!! I've never been good at drawing people but you my friend are amazing!!!
ReplyDeletenice sketches!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to connect with your characters. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLOL. That brings a whole new meaning to the term 'character sketch'.
ReplyDeleteWhat I'd give to draw like that. I can draw a pretty mean fluff bunny, but that's all. Too bad my YA novels don't contain any fluff bunnies. ;)
You draw wonderfully. He really does look alot like howl He even has blue hair like howl does at the end of the movie. :D
ReplyDeletegirl you are sooooooo talented! Love these "drafts" :)
ReplyDeletewow these sketches are brilliant1
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous that you can do that. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I can't draw. I use celebrities instead. Thank you for sharing your awesome sketches!
ReplyDeleteMaking me miss Howl. Totally going to the library and borrowing it tomorrow!
