Retreat!

The view from the cabin I will be staying at later this week. Utah? It's actually pretty amazing.

So let's face it. I'm distracted. I have the privilege of going on a lovely writers retreat this weekend with some of my very closest writing friends. I'm excited. It's going to be awesome. I hate to shove that in your faces, but there it is. There's not much else on my mind at this point. (I promise not to talk about it anymore after this post.)

I'm just gonna call it quits on attempting to write intelligent, meaningful posts this week. Not only am I busy preparing my house and kids, but I'm packing and planning food and all that jazz. Plus, I'm still trying to write and cook and exercise and crap. Busy stuff.

There will still be a Happy Writers post scheduled with my friend Adam Heine on Friday, but other than that you probably won't see me until next Tuesday. Well, I'm sure I'll still troll Twitter, but I mean on the blog.

Hope you all have a lovely week!

  3. On the one hand, yes, yes, rub it in why don't you.

But on the other, I live vicariously with these things, and depend on people like you to post PICTURES and DETAILS and FUN STORIES for me to nourish my starving writer soul on.

    So... please do?

  5. I've been trying to figure out where that is. I was thinking near Capitol Reef or Torrey, but maybe it's further north. North and East? Near Manti? It's a big state.

  8. This probably sounds nuts, but I had no idea Utah was so green. SO PRETTY!

  9. That's sounds like so much fun! Enjoy!

PS: You know you spend way too much time writing high fantasy and not enough time outdoors when...
"retreat" makes you think of war, not vacation.
    XD

  10. Is this a retreat you and your friends arranged yourselves? I am looking for a writer's retreat next summer. As a teacher who tries to get my writing time in during summer - this full house can be a challenge.

  11. Rick, well, if you insist. I will probably have to milk it for at least one post, as I am quite dry on material right now...

Ben, I am not giving away our sekrit location! hehe

Josin, Utah is a rather strange, yet wondrous place. I didn't so much love it when I moved here, but it's sure grown on me as of late.

Pseudo, we did plan it ourselves. One of my friends is blessed to have a family with a cabin, so she invited us. I kind of love her:)

Beautiful photos, and yes, Utah is very unique. There are all types of natural beauty here.
