Sunday Sketch

It's been a long while since I posted a sketch, mostly because my scanner is dead and now Photoshop Elements is not working on my new-to-me MacBook Air. I can't find the disk to reinstall. Wah. So I took a picture of this sketch, which means the quality is rotten, but oh well.

I've recently been doubting my writing and, well, everything pretty much, but it was nice to pull out the sketchpad today and do something other than editing. Sonnie is a character from one of my WIPs, and I think drawing her today has made me a little more excited about her story.

  4. This is awesome! I've always wanted to be an artist. I'm sure it's no coincidence that the mc in the story I'm currently revising is an artist.

And I'm sorry you've been doubting yourself. I know how that feels.

  5. Wow! I was already excited about SOULTHIEF thanks to your progress report post, but putting a face to a name makes it all the more exciting! From what I hear, doubt is part of the writing process. When channeled negatively it can be crippling, exhausting, and horrible, but there's always a positive to every negative, you know. Sometimes our skepticism, our fear of failure, our quote-on-quote "insecurities" push us to become better. I know you'll push through, Natalie. You're a fighter. Duh!

Lots of love and wishing you well,
    Deserae

  6. I think it's great. And it's nice you have something else to do creatively when you need a break.

  8. Not "rotten" quality at all! Ghetto-scanning, as I like to call it, works just fine. ;)

And yay for finding a way to get back into a story/character. Whatever works. And even more yay for sharing it with us. :)

  9. I see you've got something of an anime influence in your sketching.
